Named for its brilliant red tones, The colour of red gum timber can range from light pink to black, depending on the age and weather of the timber. Native to the Australian bush, it is also known as Murray River Red Gum or Satin Walnut Timber. Red Gum timber veneer panels can be used for a variety of indoor applications including joinery, feature panelling, ceiling panels, doors, furniture, cabinetry and shop fitting.

Red Gum natural hardwood veneer can be book matched, so adjoining surfaces have almost the same appearance but are mirrored. Quarter cut Red Gum wood veneers are made by cutting a log into quarters before slicing each quarter at right angles to the growth rings. This results in a veneer with a uniform lined vertical grain for a contemporary finish.

Our veneers are also environmentally friendly. Not only is wood a recyclable and renewable resource, but using veneers also extends the use of a piece of timber compared to using one solid piece. Cabinet Timbers range of red gum timber is responsibly sourced from local forests.
